My photo
Each of our lives are tiny seeds that our Heavenly Father has planted. My prayer is that we seek to glorify Him as we grow in His likeness. I am a christian wife and a homeschooling mother of 4 beautiful children. I graduated from Ohio University with my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English. My blogspot will be used to post some of our special moments from our family, share photos and to share some of the things I am learning through my experiences as a wife and mother. I love to write so occationally I may post some of my poetry or short stories I am working on. Thank you for visiting my blog. May you be blessed in Christ and His goodness always. - Tina

Potty Training 101

This week we have been focusing on teaching Leah to go on the potty. I don't care how many children you have potty trained, each child is different and it is like doing it for the first time.
I have almost been looking forward to training Leah in this area because I heard that girls are easier than boys are. I honestly don't know how Joshua and Samuel learned how to consistently go on the potty. It just seemed that over time they started doing it. I remember struggling with them on getting them to do it and then I gave up. Eventually, after a very long time, they just did it. How did that happen?

With the Lord's help, things seem to be a little different with our little "princess pee". Fortunately, it is very motivating for her when I sing with her after she goes on the potty...and she really loves "big girl" underware. I have recently picked up a book called, Potty Training In A Day- by (will be added later). So far there is some great information about the whole topic. There are some wonderful quotes from "Grandma says..." and some great facts about the history of potty training. I am not training Leah in a day, but I am enjoying every precious moment of running to the potty and assisting her during this intimate part of her life.

Lord, help me to be patient as I watch my children grow. Help me to cherish every moment of their growth and to be thankful for their presence in my life. Give me the strength that I need each day as I go about Your will for our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
