School Daze...
It was just like a perfect fall day. There was a slight chill in the air from the breeze outside. The children all tumbled out of bed with their blankets wrapped around them. Time for our first day of school.
Samuel was all smiles...like usual!
Leah wrapped up in her robe, forces a smile.
Paul is NOT a morning person...and he lets us know it :)
We were up and done with our routine about an hour before we had to leave.
Joshua was the first to settle into his new class. He has his name on his desk with a number. The children are to hang up their coats and bags at their assigned spot.
He gets all his supplies into his desk and waits for his teacher.
His class has a "smart board" and dry erase boards for school work. His Bible verse was up on the board for him to copy and get started first thing.
Samuel poses at his new desk as he waits patiently for his class to start. His routine is similar. His name and a number are on his desk as well. All of his supplies are in his desk and ready to go. He posed nicely for me, but really he was ready for me to leave. He was all excited to get started.
This is the bulletin board in front of his room. His name is on the red star just to his right.
And Leah!! All smiles! She is so excited to start school. Her school supplies are kept in a little white basket by her work area. She has her name tag in the basket and already started coloring a picture.
A picture of a school house :)
After we dropped off the older children, Paul and I hung out with some other parents to pray for the children and their schooling. The Parent Boosters Team was there in the hallway for the new parents. They were ready with coffee, juice and muffins... and were ready to answer any of our questions.
After praying with some of the parents...Paul and I ventured outside. On our way into the school, He spotted the playground and was in a hurry to go play.
We stayed for a little while and visited with a friend before we decided to go back to their house for a visit before we needed to be back for pick up.
When the children came home...they were filled with stories of the day. Not a whole lot of homework...which was nice for the first day of school. They needed to copy down their Bible verse for writing practice and memorization.
Well...that was our first day.
We are thankful for what the Lord has provided this year. We look forward to the many surprises He has in store for us.
