"So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God Who causes the growth." 1 Corinthians 3:7

We have been watching our pete pots for the sprouting that is to take place for our garden. We have prayed for the Almighty to work His will for our garden and trusting in Him to provide for our needs. As we are watching for the little sprouts to shoot up throught the soil...I am forced to recognize that it is much like our life as we grow in the likeness of our Saviour. Our Father plants the seeds (His Word) into our hearts and He waters us with the Holy Spirit and He watches and waits for us to grow.

While we wait, we are preparing our soil and the spot where the sprouts will be tended to as they grow into mature plants. We have been so blessed this year with the things that we need to make our Garden just perfect. Due to my health...Steve has provided the labor to get things started. He cleared out the grass area for us to plant and will be tilling in some sand to break up the clay. He has the fencing up to keep the animals out of our plants...my biggest worry is our Beagle Mutt! She loves to dig. So we need to keep a close eye on her.

I have been waiting on the Almighty to see what He will provide before I actually make any purchases. One thing that Leah and I wanted to have in the garden was Strawberries. To our surprize...growing next to the house is a beautiful strawberry patch. I knew we had some wild strawberries growing in another part of the yard, but the Almighty surprized me with these. These berries that are growing are much bigger than the ones I saw last year. We will watch them for a while to see if they will get any bigger.

These are our lettuce sprouts. A lot of people will grow their sprouts in the house so to protect the sprouts from the frost. We had a nice warm day when we planted our seeds, but I had no place in the house to keep them. We prayed for our little seedlings and put them in the sand/water table out in the yard. The table folds over itself, so when the heavy rains came and when it got cooler outside, our seeds were protected. To my surprize again, they did so well.

When we went to a free gardening class at Lowe's Garden Center...One of the children won a cabbage plant. Since our soil hasn't been ready to plant yet, we have been watering this one in the house. I brought it out with the sprouts today to enjoy the sunshine.
Heavenly Father...thank you so much for providing all of our needs. Thank you for our garden and the wonderful lessons we are learning from it. Thank you for being part of our lives and making it possible to have communion with You throught the death and Life of Your Son. We are so thankful for our little sprouts and look forward to the fruit you will bring forth. Help us to keep growing, like our sprouts, so that we can glorify You with all we have.
