We took a field trip to Lake Farm Parks to see the Quilt Show and the baby animals. The children and I went with a good friend of ours from church. We did go with a purpose. I wanted to see the beautiful quilts with Lynn...and give the boys some culture. (LOL, I know boys don't usually get into quilting.) But the designs on these quilts are so interesting...I though they could at least pick their favorites and use it for an upcoming writing assignment. We took lots of pictures. And when the boys finish their papers on their quilt choice, I plan to have them write their own post. Of course this is going to be an experiment...so we will have to pray about the results. =)
This is the quilt Samuel chose. Can you guess why?

I liked this "Be..." quilt.

Joshua said this was one of his favorites.

I thought the dresses and the pumpkin patch were so special.

a beautiful cabin scene.

I thought this was neat. The ice cicles on the house were dangles.

My friend, Lynn with a lattace quilt.

Joshua liked the sports theme in this one.

This depicted the Metroparks.

We needed to find a lighthouse :)

This has apple trees and bunnies.

A beautiful flower garden.

This was another one of Joshua's favorites favorites because of the ocean theme.

This was almost a painting...so pretty.

Samuel liked the elephants.

This was one of Leah's favorites.
Check out the following photo of the description for this quilt.

The pattern quilts were just gorgeous!

I don't remember the name of this one, but it reminds me of "Jack and the Beanstalk".

These are definitely Mary's colors. It reminded me of her.

The work that went into planning this one :)

Either this artist was thinking of her husband or she was a carpenter as well:)
After looking at the quilts we went out to the barn to see the animals.

Leah with a baby cow.

There she is.

Hi there, friend.

Mary had a little Jacob lamb.

Mama and babies.

I wanna ride!

Baaaaa!

So sweet!

These one just wouldn't leave their mom alone!

Paul liked this little guy. He came out of the warmer to visit us.

"Little pig, Little pig, let me in!"

There was a lot of grunting :) I think mostly from the children...LOL.
